For over fifty years, Martha Tolles has been writing books, essays, and short stories. To date, she has written twelve novels, eight of which were published by Scholastic. 

With over 2.3 million copies sold in three languages, Tolles continues to delight young readers. Recently, she has forayed into adult fiction with her newest release Love and Sabotage. 

Today, Tolles is a member of the Authors Guild and the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI). Furthermore, her papers—including books, letters, and manuscripts—have been accepted at the Sophia Smith Collection of Women's History at her alma mater Smith College.
